Description : Located in the heart of the Marais on the top (4th) floor of a 300 year old building, this bright and spacious apartment has high ceiling with ancient oak beams and is tastefully decorated with antique French and oriental furniture and original artworks. Note: your luggage will be carried up to the apartment by your host.
The lounge room has a settee that converts into a comfortable double bed (140 cm), two armchairs and a sculpted African coffee table. The dining area has a table that seats 4 people and in the entrance there is an antique French wardrobe and Chinese sideboard.
There is a flat-screen cable TV television, a CD/cassette player and radio, as well as a high-speed Internet connection and telephone.
The separate kitchen is fully equipped with an oven, vitro-ceramic hotplates, refrigerator and separate freezer, dish washer and washing machine/dryer. In the bedroom there is a queen size (160 cm wide) bed, bedside table and lamp and built-in wardrobes.
The modern bathroom is equipped with a shower, washbasin and toilet and hair dryer. All towels and linen are provided.
Neighbourhood: Rue des Francs-Bourgeois in Paris is a fashionable shopping street with numerous clothes boutiques and designer shops.The apartment is just one minute walk from the beautiful place des Vosges with its arcades and elegant gardens.
In this historical area of Paris, you will find many museums within a few minutes walk of the apartment: Musee Picasso, Musee Cognac-Jay, Musee Carnavalet, Jewish Museum, Hotel de Sully, National Archives and the Biblitheque Historique de Paris. Being the old aristocratic area of Paris, there are many city mansions with formal gardens, small parks and squares. The antique market in the Village Saint-Paul, the Jewish quarter and the bustling night life of La Bastille are all close by. The Pompidou Centre, banks of the Seine and Notre Dame cathedral are all within ten minutes walk.
